FINAL PIECE
First I used the polygonal lasso tool to cut around all of the buildings I find that tool really useful as you can cut your own shapes out. I also used the rectangular marquee tool to remove large unwanted areas when I was cutting around the buildings, this tool really helped as it is quick to remove huge areas of backgrounds. When arranging the images I had to think over it a lot, I wanted to use the Fibonacci spiral as it can lead the viewers eyes along a path and it is useful to place important and interesting features at the end of the spiral, therefore I tried to use the composition in my work by placing 4 of the 11 buildings on the left leading up to the bundle of buildings. I also tried to give the modern buildings a bluer shade of colour and the more old buildings more red, brown and orange shades. At first the blue building was black but changed the colour balance to blue. I gave the tower and London bridge a red colour balance change to give and old red affect as it was too dull before. I also gave them a hue of -63 to give it a realistic look as my when I did my Leicester edits I wanted to go for a unrealistic look so this time I wanted to do something realistic. Lastly I changed the hue and saturation and brightness and contrast settings on buildings no. 1, 8, 11 and 10. On image 9 I had to use the magic wand tool to remove the outline of bridge as it is very detailed I realised that the tool is very useful sometimes. Overall I know that I have improved a lot in Photoshop through some video tutorials and by re doing it. If I were to do this again I would move the position of building 9 as it looks like it is flying, however, I have enjoyed putting the piece together.
Below I have numbered the buildings so it is evident how much I have changed each photograph. |
